Exhibition Fund Raising

City College Coventry students are raising money to fund an exhibition of their work at the Herbert Art Gallery.

The exhibition is called “Other stories” and will reflect Coventry and its diverse community. The works shown will explore a wide range of themes through the use of a variety of media including: painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design and 3D Design, fashion, textiles and photography.

Students will showcase their work alongside contemporary and historical artists including Degas and Grayson Perry.  The event will be open to the public for three weeks from the 18th May 2016.

Student’s have been busy selling works of art, cake selling and even a carwash. One of the many students contributing is Katie Cox who is studying on Level 3 Diploma in Photography.  Katie created a sculptural book which she is raffling as part of the fundraising event.

Katie said, “I made the book by folding pages to make the word hope then I decorated it like a card, “I always dreamed that my work would be on exhibit one day but to see that day come will be very exciting.”

Students have set up a crowd funding site to help raise the funds if you wish to contribute please visit http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/other-stories/
