FAQ's

Not everyone is familiar with the process of enrolling or applying for a course. We have tried to help here with some of the most frequently asked questions.

How can I find out more information on courses?

Click onto the courses section of the website and you will find a list of both full-time and part-time courses available to study.

Alternatively our part-time, On Course and HE prospectuses detail courses offered. Our team of Course Information advisors can help you identify which course would be best for you. Call course information free on 0800 616 202 to request a copy of a prospectus or alternatively click onto courses and download a PDF of your required prospectus.

How are courses assessed?

Each course is assessed differently, some require you to submit assignments and sit exams. Others require to just submit assignments or to sit exams. As each course differs it is best to check with Course Information Advisors.

Are there exam/registration fees for courses?

Most courses that offer a qualification have an exam and/or registration fee associated with it. Within the course listing there is a column, which shows whether the exam fee is included in the course costs. It is best to check this when enrolling for your course.

What is the awarding body for courses?

Those courses that offer a qualification will have an awarding body. The awarding body is shown before the course title within the course information.

Key
C&G - City & Guilds
OCN - Open College Network
OCR - Oxford Cambridge RSA
NOCN - National Open College Network
NVQ - National Vocational Qualification

Do I get a certificate for a course?

On those courses that offer a qualification you will receive a certificate. Where a course is not qualification lead, you may receive a college certificate.

What do I do once I've decided on the course I'd like to study?

Once you have decided on the course you wish to study, you need to enrol. Enrolment dates and times for August are shown in Applying section. Out side of these dates call 0800 616 202 to check dates and times. You should enrol with Course Information at the Centre your course is located.

Can I book my place on a course over the phone?

You can book your place over the telephone if you are applying for a part time course which requires no interview and you are paying for the course yourself. If you have any queries please telephone our Course Information line on 0800 616 202.

If you want to pay in full for a course and are unable to come into college to enrol, you can book your place over the telephone using a debit or credit card or by cheque (made payable to City College Coventry). You will need to go to Course Information on the first day of your course to get your student ID card and official receipt in order to be fully enrolled.

What if I am unemployed, do I still have to pay?

There are exemptions from payment of fees, refer to the Fee's section which explains who is exempt from paying course fees.
