Effective Communication Skills

Effective communication is essential to personal and organisational success. Often, poor communication is a contributory factor in workplace problems. We communicate all the time, yet rarely think about what, how or why we are communicating. Being aware of our responsibilities when sending and receiving messages is a key performance indicator. A successful communicator knows how to get their message across and taking responsibility for the whole communication process is the basis for this one day workshop.

Duration: 1 day

Assert Yourself with Confidence

Achieving successful working relationships with colleagues is not always easy. Some fall into the trap of aggressive behaviour, whilst others may play a passive role and as such be undervalued. The ideal is the middle ground occupied by those who can get the best from their colleagues, earn respect and create a constructive working atmosphere. Such people have learned to be assertive and consequently project confidence and a positive self-image. This one day course provides practical guidance on how to handle a range of situations. Delegates will be able to maximise their contribution to the organisations’ success, and at the same time develop a more confident approach.

Producing accurate easy to understand minutes is vital to an organisation’s decision making process. Without training, minute taking may be unclear and disjointed, or fall short of accurately reporting the meeting and the actions to be taken.

This practical one day workshop takes delegates step by step through the process of meeting preparation, active listening and note taking to the final production of the minutes.
